Tumblr is a cross between blogging and social bookmarking. You can easily add text, video pictures and more to any page with the click of a button. Think blogging, or slimmed down with no real maintenance.

Uvouch is a social site to save links and videos. Kind reminds me of YouTube with a few more features.

If you add an iFeedReaders social bookmark button to your site, you can give your visitors instant access to all the options on the social bookmark page. Or, add the bookmarklet to your browser to give you instant access to the social bookmark options from any page you browse to.

Now, I just need to get a few more tools tied into this database. But that’s a project for another day.

The best part about the new bookmarks page as it’s driven by a database. With everything in a database, I’ll be able to pull it out in to the social bookmark creator tool. But that’s a project for another day.

It also allows anyone to quickly add social bookmark services. Any services added though the ‘Add Service‘ form automatically get put into a database, but not made live. Then I go in and just have to approve them. All the code is already written to display the buttons and it should help keep the bookmarks page fresher.

If you are using one of the iFeedReaders bookmark buttons, you automatically get to take advantage of the new bookmark page. If you don’t have a button, consider grabbing one.

The problem is that there are thousands of hits an hour to twistermc.com for the images and that’s taking a major tool on the server. Either we have to pay much higher hosting rates for that site or we have to force users to update. Since the feed buttons are a free service, extra hosting costs are not something that can be dealt with easily.

Please, take a few minutes and re-create ALL your feed button images to ensure that none of them are linking back to twistermc.com.

For those that don’t update their buttons, the red image will grow, possibly daily, until it can’t be ignored. I hate to do it, but I don’t really have any other choice at this time.

So what’s new you ask? Well I came to learn quite quickly that I suck at keeping all the new feed and bookmark requests up to date. Everyone wants their service added and I just don’t have time to do code them all in. So I thought why not let you do the work for me.

With the new add service format, not much changes for the submitter. You can easily add your site, or your favorite site, to iFeedReaders by filling out the simple form. It then goes into a database and awaits my approval. Once I approve it, it’ll make up the new Bookmark or Subscribe page that I have yet to complete.

With the new format, I will theoretically have to just approve services instead of code them in. Thus making the process faster and us happier.

However, there is a downside. I have to convert everything over. So far I have four social bookmark services done and one feed button. So I have a bit of work ahead of me. But it’ll be nice when it’s all done.
